about Petite Taway

I am lucky! I work with some of the most talented people in the world. I watched an Oprah show where she decided to promote some of her FAVORITE THINGS. If she can do it, I can do it. All of the items below represent three favorite pieces from each of my clients. If you like it click on the the photos to visit the artist's website and BUY, BUY, BUY and help support local artists.

I love Gourd Art and Fine Art! I have been working with Sharron Leigh, whom I met at an art show last year. She showed me her work and I knew immediately I wanted to work with her! All of Sharron's gourds are hand picked and cleaned by Sharron herself. Sharron uses the stippling technique for her fine prints and gourd designs.

Verna Bates is an acclaimed Cherokee artist, whom I was lucky enough to become friends with. Her artwork encompasses not only her culture but her own artistic interpretations of life in Oklahoma. She works with various mediums to produce award winning pieces. She creates gourd art, paintings and clay jewelry, that all represent the beauty of the Cherokee culture.

Tonya Patten is the mother of 6, YES I said mother of 6, who decided to follow her passion and start her jewelry business. I met Tonya a few months ago, and fell in love with her original silver jewelry designs. She incorporates gemstones and crystals into her creations so each piece has meaning.

Stacey Littledear was a great surprise for me. About 20 years ago, I purchased some clay figurines from an artist at a Powwow in Virginia. These pieces traveled everywhere I went because of the special feeling of joy I had every time I looked at them. One year ago, I met this artist, and now have been working with her to promote her art which is incredible.

Suzan Scribner-Reed has been my client for 10 years. Suzan has been designing and creating jewelry since 1974 and has been working with paper since 1991. She produces one-of-a-kind pieces. Her work is comprised of collaged recycled papers that she embellishes with paint, antique beads, semiprecious stones, hand turned findings and gold filled and silver wire.

Three generations of silversmithing tradition is what Sam Patania brings to the table with his jewelry line. Sam's designs have been featured in magazines and mainstream media outlets worldwide. Presently he is working on a couture line that will appeal to a younger clientele. I own a piece of Sam's work, and I will add to my collection soon.

Kevin Pourier is the absolute coolest person in the Universe!!! He is an inspiration to me on so many levels, and he makes me laugh all the time. Kevin uses buffalo horn that he recycles to create award winning designs that are in high demand by collectors. Kevin loves butterflies and his Oglala Sioux culture and his designs highlight this.

When I first started working with Jennifer Campbell, part of my job is to research history and mediums. I had heard of the Floriography but until I did my research never understood the power of flowers to communicate ideas and emotions. These pieces of jewelry are not only beautiful but they all have a story. A message......

I have been working with Beth Frechette for the last 6 years, and I LOVE IT! I am the proud owner of many of her pieces and have recommended her to many looking for jewelry that makes a statement. I love the feel of the seaglass, and her silversmithing skills makes the glass stand out even more.

Sometimes you are lucky enough to get a phone call from someone who is on the verge of greatness. Roger Casey is one of the most talented artists I have ever had the honor of working with. His creations are all done in handcut copper, piece by piece, from inspirations that are all around him. Roger also donates many of his pieces to causes that are close to his heart.
